Tours

Jari Piper has toured extensively as a solo musician. Jari has completed two cross-country American tours, an Alaskan tour, the Istanbul Modern Museum of Art in Istanbul, Turkey, and as far as Baku, Azerbaijan, where he performed at cellist Mistislav Rostropovich's birthplace, now the Rostropovich House Museum.

 

Jari Piper is a frequent comissioner of new music, and has premiered solo works from composers Ilkim Tongur, Reiko Yamada, Kaitlyn Raitz, Chris Kincaid, Ryan Brauwer, Daniel Gillian, Joel Jarventausta and more.  His all-solo repertoire is a mixture of classic repertoire and 21th century music.  Jari's mission is to perform uncommon music for unexpecting audiences, and continue to make people say "Wow I didn't know the cello could make sounds like that."
